The Sigurtà Park in Valeggio sul Mincio is one of the most beautiful landscaped gardens in Europe. He is breathtaking, spacious and has won several awards. For example, in 2013 the "most beautiful park in Italy" and in 2015 the "second most beautiful park in Europe". The plant has nearly 600,000 square meters of land and houses numerous plants. The park runs along the Mincio River, just a few kilometers from Lake Garda. If you visit the park, you should definitely bring time. Here you can easily spend a few hours, but also the whole day.

At the beginning of 1941 the estate came into the possession of Doctor Giuseppe Carlo Sigurtà. When he bought the park, it was neglected and dried up. Thanks to the ancient right to draw irrigation water from the Mincio river, Sigurtà was able to breathe life into the park again. He was dedicated to the terrain. Since 1978 the facility is open to visitors. Even today, the park is family owned. The grandchildren of Giuseppe Sigurtà continue the work of their grandfather.

In addition to the diverse number of plants, the visitor will find on the site a large maze of taxus trees and a sundial. In April there is a special event, the visitor can admire over one million tulips. For the physical well-being is ensured, there is a selection of gastronomic enterprises in the park area. Here you will find typical regional dishes. Some lawns are allowed to enter and invite you to a picnic.

Parco Sigurtà can be explored on foot or by bike. You can bring your own bike, but you can borrow one too. The visitor also has the opportunity to borrow a golf cart. With the slow train the ride through the park takes about 35 minutes. A guided tour is also offered. In the shuttle bus the visitor experiences all sorts of interesting, interesting information and stories about the park. The duration of the tour is about one hour.


Also worth a visit is the village of Valeggio sul Mincio. The small town has preserved its medieval charm to this day. For example, the visitor can still admire functioning mill wheels today. In addition, the place is known for its culinary delights and its tortellini.
